Seizing the Day: Embrace God’s Purpose for Your Future

No one knows what the future holds. It’s a statement that can be viewed through either a lens of optimism or fear—it all depends on the heart behind it. Today, I’m inviting you, sister, to seize the day and make decisions that align with God's purpose for your life.

Maybe you’re one who struggles with procrastination, or you feel overwhelmed by the problems you can’t seem to escape. You’re frustrated, tired, and stuck.

Take a breath. Step back. Breathe.

Seizing the day isn’t about conquering the world in one day, one week, or even one year. It’s about bringing our hearts to the Father and allowing Him to give us what we need—His oil that ignites peace, truth, love, hope, and more within us.

Seizing the day isn’t another item on your to-do list. It’s a way of living. It’s about letting God lead His daughters—especially in times when we feel lost, hurt, or unsure of the next step.

The word “seizing” means to take something suddenly or with force. But, instead of rushing after the next big break in your finances, career, or family, what if you began to seize God's rest?

Try Seizing God's Rest

Jesus invites us to rest in Him, and it’s a promise we can hold onto every day. In Matthew 11:25-29, Jesus says:

"I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

This promise is for you, daughter. Take hold of it today and let it transform your heart and mind. Write it down, reflect on it, and make it a part of your daily life.

God’s Wisdom Over Our Own

God is the ultimate source of wisdom. While we value education, intelligence, and rational thought, in our pursuit of higher thinking, we sometimes miss the simplicity of God's truth. Why would we want to lean on our limited understanding when God sees the big picture?

Stop stressing and start seizing. His wisdom is available to you, guiding you in every decision. Trust in His plan for your life and let go of the pressure to do it all on your own.

A Call to Rest in God's Presence

Resting in God’s presence is a privilege, not a burden. It’s a reminder that the work you are doing in the world—whether big or small—is part of His greater purpose. But rest is costly; so is neglecting to fulfill the purpose God has given you. The balance lies in resting in His presence so that you can be renewed to do the work He has called you to.

I’d like to invite you to our Sisterhood Circle, where we rest in His presence together in prayer. Join us for updates and prayer each month as we continue to support each other in God’s rest and purpose.
